Alliance for Watershed Education

The Center for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium is excited to announce that we have joined the Alliance for Watershed Education!

The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River, or AWE, is a network of 23 environmental centers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. It aims to provide education and recreational opportunities that inspire personal conservation action, improve water quality, and increase access to trails and waterways.

Every year, the 23 centers in AWE host a shared event series called “River Days”. By creating fun and unique experiences, River Days aims to help communities learn about and become involved in cleaning up their local watersheds.

During the summer months, the Center for Aquatic Sciences will host a Watershed Fellow, whose job is to engage young people to become ambassadors for the Delaware River. They will help assist with programming, recreation activities on the trail and waterways, habitat enhancement projects and community outreach and engagement.
