scavenger hunts
Pre-K to 12th Grade
Our Aquarium Scavenger Hunts highlight some of the fascinating animals that live at the aquarium as well as information geared toward specific age groups such has where they live, how they survive, their conservation status and what students can do to help and protect them from extinction. Each Scavenger Hunt is designed to help children slow down and experience the exhibits and animals more thoroughly, offering questions that encourage creative thinking and careful observation to answer. Younger children can participate in the scavenger hunts with the assistance of an adult, while older children can use the scavenger hunts on their own.

Pre-K to 8th Grade
Our Chaperone Guides provides guidance, structure and supplemental information for chaperones during their visit to Adventure Aquarium with facts specific to each zone and various exhibits. The Guides focus on the same topics as the Aquarium Scavenger Hunts for each age group.

Our Teacher Exhibit Companions includes activities to prepare students for their visit and to reinforce their educational experience when they return to their classroom. The Exhibit Companions focus on the same topics and exhibits as the Scavenger Hunts and Chaperone Guides for each age group. Each Companion includes descriptions of the exhibits and the animals they contain, as well as discussion questions about the animals and their relationships to each other.
Animal Fact Sheets:
Is a dolphin a mammal or fish? What’s the difference between an alligator and crocodile? Why do sharks have so many teeth? Find the answers to these questions and more in our collection of Animal Fact Sheets. Each is full of information that can be used before or after your trip to better understand more the animals at Adventure Aquarium.
Biologist’s Daily Routine Activity Guide
Using our fun and engaging activity booklet, children become assistant biologists as they travel around the aquarium, focusing on the science and math involved in taking care of over 8,500 aquatic species. The activities align with several PA and NJ Science Academic Standards, as well as Next Generation Science Standards (see inside back cover of the booklet).
