Teen Programs Overview

Whether you’re looking for a quick introduction to marine science, or you want to get more in-depth and hands-on with biology and environmental topics, our STEM-based teen programs offer a variety of options for students ages 12 and up.  From 3-hour glimpses, to monthly sessions, or 2 week camp experiences, these unique programs enable future ocean scientists a great way to gain experience and knowledge outside of their science classroom.    

High School Shadow Program

Do you want to learn what it takes to become a marine biologist or work with animals at the Aquarium? Our High School Shadow program is a 3-hour experience that gives students in grades 9 – 12 an opportunity to meet up with Aquarium staff and get a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a marine biologist. Teen Marine Science Institute

Are you looking for a way for your teen to gain practical experience in Marine Science? The Teen Marine Science Institute not only gives high school students hands-on experiences, advanced marine science content and opportunities to discover biology related careers, but will set them apart from their peers when applying for college. This program meets the first Saturday of each month, and includes in-aquarium lessons and experiences, as well as trips into the field. (Read More)

Junior Marine Biologist Camp

Junior Marine Biologist camp is a weekly summer camp at Adventure Aquarium for teens in grades 6-8. Full of hands-on science, animal interactions, field trips and more, this program is a great way to begin your research into marine science as a career or nurture your student’s love of the ocean.
